Job Summary: (Brief description of primary purpose of function)

The responsibilities and duties of this position will differ day in and day out depending on what is needed!

Job Responsibilities:

• General chassis mechanic and container mechanic work
• Management of all chassis depot responsibilities, including inspection, check in, check out and inventory
• Management of roadside assistance line for owner operators leased onto the company
• Work collaboratively within the management team to ensure all depot related tasks are completed in a timely manner and completed correctly
• Deliver reliable, efficient, excellent customer service at all times when communicating to all internal and external customers and business associates
• Utilize equipment (forklift, truck) in the repositioning of chassis on yard

• Run diagnostic tests on diesel engines while analyzing and interpreting diagnostic test results to offer suitable solutions to problems
• Inspect vehicle systems including suspension, steering, and exhausts
• Repair and/ or replace vehicle brakes, air systems, tires/wheels, cooling/HVAC, and electrical DEF systems
• Complete oil changes and break checks
• Ability to weld and use a cutting torch
• Diagnose and repair trucks
• PM trucks and chassis
• Light fabrications work
• Maintain vehicle records by annotating services and repairs (paper and electronic)
• Perform annual DOT inspections
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues

• Effectively work and interface with chassis pool team as requested daily – in person and email

• Assist drivers who have general inquiries such as yard locations, or other questions and/or issues while representing IXT in a professional manner
• Maintaining orderliness, communication, and safety throughout the yard
• Respond quickly to critical situations
• Continuously maintain Depot lot
